Who are you? The MBW 2014 Audience Survey

October 28, 20148 Comments

I was just talking about how amazing all of you are with someone they other day and I suddenly realized I haven’t done an audience survey in easily two or three years. That really worried me!

As close as I consider all of us to be, I feel horrible that I don’t know some of the most basic answers about most of you. If anything, that just shows I’ve been neglecting my duties as a good host.

So to remedy the situation I’m asking if you could take a few minutes and answer some questions for me so I can get a picture of the average Matt’s Basement Workshop audience member.

I mean, it’s obvious to me that you’re all devastatingly handsome men or absolutely beautiful women, and I imagine you’re all independently wealthy, and educated from only the finest of schools.

But just in case I’m a little off, I’d like to get a more refined picture of who I’m talking with everytime I post an article or video. It’s only fair really. You know a lot about me, so how about you?

To take the survey to help me understand who you, the average (or not so average) audience member of Matt’s Basement Workshop are, click on this link to the MBW Audience Member Survey. You’re participation is very much appreciated!

As my way of saying “Thank you!” After you’ve completed the survey come back to this page, click on this link to send me an email with the subject line “2014 Survey Completed.”

When I receive your email I’ll enter your name in a drawing to win a “Your Brain on Matt’s Basement Workshop T-shirt.”

The winner will be announced on November 30, 2014. Entries are open to international audience members also…because WHY NOT?

Just for transparency…this survey is primarily for demographics information for potential sponsors, but I DO want to know you too…

I think country and state would be a nice addition. Because fx income varies from country to country, without always saying something about how well off you are in that particular country. Writing from Denmark.

So, what demographic your sponsors looking for?
For a cool T-shirt, I can take the survey a hundred times to, say, “help” the out-come….chortle….

  3. John Verreault says:

Took the survey but you really need to have the last question about income as either optional or with a choice that includes “Not willing to answer” as that is frankly none of your business in context of MBW. Just saying.

John I’ll keep that in mind when I have another survey in the coming years (assuming my lottery numbers don’t pay off LOL!) But actually personal income is a major consideration when it comes to the vast majority of advertisers. While it is intrusive, it’s a necessary evil that I’m not all that happy to ask for.

In fact, I could tell them everything about an audience member that is deep, dark and secretive…and the only thing they’d be more concerned with is this question. Sorry man, we’ve been together a long time, I hate to see a friend get upset.

I appreciate everything you’ve done for me over the years. Being able to call you a friend is one of the best benefits of doing the show, same goes for everyone I’ve met (both online and in person.)

Knowing you Matt, I trust you will aggregate the data and the e-mail address out of it will not sold to potential sponsors 🙂

    • Matt says:

I haven’t had the opportunity to be asked by a sponsor to buy my audience’s emails, but if they ever do get sold I’d like to know how it happened and where’s my cut LOL?

  5. Matt says:

Congrats to Norman R. for being the winner of the t-shirt drawing. Thanks to everyone who participated!
