For this month’s visit with our very own guest expert Hendrik. We’re wrapping up our 3 part mini-series on finishing by discussing hand-applied finishes and finishing techniques.
It’s safe to say that hand application of a finish is the most common method being used by home shop/small shop woodworkers.
Whether it’s applying a traditional penetrating oil such as tung oil or a topcoat such as lacquer, there are steps that can make the difference between a great result and one you wish had never applied.
Coming up in June, Hendrik will be back for one more episode before our Summer hiatus in July. This is an open question and answer show, so if there’s something we haven’t talked about or something you’d like clarified email us with your question.
If you’re interested in finding out more about starting your own woodworking business Hendrik’s annual “Starting A Woodworking Business” seminar is June 6th, 2009. There’s still a couple more openings available if you can make it. Contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
