365 Whiteside’s Rabbet Bit Set

Throughout the month of June 2009, Woodcraft and Matt’s Basement Workshop are featuring Whiteside Router Bit’s Rabbet Bit set as the router bit of the month.

Following along with the idea of “essential” router bit profiles, a rabbeting bit is without a doubt one of these. In just about every project we build, whether it’s as small as a box to as large as an entertainment center. Somewhere along the way a rabbet or two will need to be cut.

Having a rabbeting bit on hand will make quick work of that job. But depending on the size of the rabbet needed, you may want to have an assortment of sizes on hand so you’re guaranteed the right fit.

That’s where Whiteside has stepped up and made this ideal Rabbet Bit set. Included with the cutter are not just 1 or 2 bearings for adjusting the cutting width, but instead there are 7 bearings for cutting rabbets and an 8th for converting the bit into a large flush trimming bit.
