395 Samantha’s Bookcase Construction Pt. 4
Let’s jump back into the construction of Samantha’s bookcase. In this episode I’m attaching the solid wood face frame to the base unit. We have a few options for covering the plywood edges, but rather than veneer I prefer solid wood.

Matt,
I’m gonna guess you are a Lefty?
Nice Horsie you got in the background there along the wall, you ride it much? Looks like she could be Broken in a little… LOL
Great Video, Can’t wait to see the finished project!

I was wondering if you had considered routing a groove almost the entire length (stopping short of the ends) of your edge banding, instead of biscuit slots? You would lose a little bit of glue surface, but you would gain almost infinite “wiggle room” for aligning the piece.
It would certainly make sense if you were churning out a lot of pieces that needed edge banding, like an entire set of kitchen cabinets.
To be quite honest that idea never occurred to me lol! It’s a great idea and if I had a ton of pieces to attach, as you suggested, it’d be ideal.
Thanks for the tip!
