409 Hendrik’s February Visit “How Do I Learn Woodworking”
Hendrik is back this month and our topic of discussion is “How Do I Learn Woodworking”. Just like there are so many different aspects of woodworking there’s more than one way to learn woodworking. Whether it’s taking a class or simply playing around in the shop, learning woodworking is a personal journey that starts with one person deciding they want to try something new.
But some of the questions we wrestle with include “what do I need to learn?”, “where do I learn?” and “why do I need to learn?” Have a listen and see where our conversation goes.
During the conversation today, Hendrik mentioned some appearances he has coming up. To find out more about these shows and their schedules here’s the links.
London Woodworking Show in London, Ontario, Canada, Feb. 12th through 14th & Kitchener-Waterloo Woodworking Show in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Mar. 12th through 14th www.woodshow.com
Canadian Home Workshop Show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Mar. 5th through 7th www.canadianhomeworkshop.com
Of course if you can’t make it to one of these events stop by Hendrik’s website www.passionforwood.com to learn more about his own private woodworking classes.
I do have one little request, or maybe two, if you don’t mind? Please take my new listener survey. If you enter your email address at the end you’ll be entered in a contest to win a MBW T-shirt and a pair of ZEM hearing protection. I promise all the info will be kept private!
And second, checkout the newest woodworking show The Spoken Wood Podcast. You’ll find the first episodes already posted in the regular feed here on the show, but eventually they’ll only be available on it’s own feed. So check it out and subscribe today!
Don’t forget to enter for free Schwag and please support our sponsors by visiting their links here on the website.

Love it. You cant be a woodworker if you are not working the wood. The worst that could happen is you will end up with a fancy burning log. I am very new to woodworking and every chance I get, I am cutting or planing wood. Even if it is just to make sawdust.
