423 A Day At The Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Show

April 11, 2010

We all want to kick the tires before we buy, but when it comes to certain things in life it’s not always possible. Thankfully the folks at Lie-Nielsen understand this and travel across the states and into the great white north to give every woodworker an opportunity to man handle their planes, saws, chisels and more. While the events are slightly different from venue to venue, they’re a lot of fun to attend!!

Thanks to everyone who made it to Jeff Miller’s in Chicago for the show. It was great to meet all of you and thanks for saying HI, Aiden couldn’t believe people actually knew me LOL!!

Nothing quite like a Giordano’s stuffed pizza, is there? One slice will just about feed a family of six.

I had my 2-year old in tow and it was a bit crowded on Friday, so I didn’t get to stay very long. She took one look at the screwy chair and started casting an eye towards the door. But I did pick up a book (autographed) and a honing gauge.

Giordano’s was just what we were looking for too. In fact it was all the vendors and Jeff Miller who recommended them. I was very excited Aiden wanted to come with me, and he’s been talking about ever since. I hope this doesn’t get more expensive for me as he gets older LOL!

Great video only problem I saw was that it wasnt long enough! LOL

I would for this type of show to come to Atlanta. (although both Thomas Lie Nielsen and Chris Schwarz were recntly here)

I too have a boy (12) whohas recently wanted to help me with some of my woodworking. I bought him a Stanley block plane and showed him how to sharpen it.

Love the ending with the airplane. Thaks again for all your insight and time in getting this infor out to us all!

Now that was probably an exciting trip all around.

    Nice camera work Aiden.

Really cool seeing what it is like to go to one of those things. You made it special by including your son.

    Thanks for sharing,

Hey guys thanks! We had a really great time, and it was nice to see the number of kids and families that were there. It was a great environment to show them a few tricks and just have fun.
