My kids are on Spring Break right now and the last thing they’re thinking about is anything to do with school. But thanks to my co-host Shannon Rogers posting the semester 5 schedule for The Hand Tool School, returning to school is suddenly all I’m thinking about!
Semester 5 is all about Wood Turning, and considering I’m finally coming out of my shell and spending more time with the lathe I’ve ignored for almost two years, this is the semester I’ll probably show up on time for class for once.
Introduction to turning tools
Sharpening turning tools
Electric vs. Meat Powered Turning
And like any good school experience there’s homework and projects to help emphasize the lessons. Semester 5 projects include a Spring Pole Lathe, Treadle Lathe and a Shaker Pedestal Table. Of course there is one big difference, if you don’t do your homework no one will call your parents!
