There’s no doubt about it now, the latest entry in the Woodworking Television world is someone you’re already familiar with Tommy MacDonald of the “Rough Cut Show”. Starting this fall, PBS is airing Tommy’s new show “Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac”.

Rough Cut is being produced by WGBH and will premiere on local PBS stations starting in October 2010. According to WGBH’s website “The series invites viewers into the workshop of Boston native and fine furniture maker Tommy MacDonald, a graduate of the famed Boston-based North Bennet Street School. Thirteen innovative episodes follow Tommy as he travels to historical New England landmarks to gain design inspiration, then returns to his workshop to demonstrate the steps and techniques it takes to create comprehensive woodworking projects.”

Thanks for shring this Matt. I was up in the Portsmouth, NH Woodcraft last week during my Windsor Institute class and everyone up there was all abuzz over this guy. I hope he lives up to the hype, but the shows content looks like it will fill a void out there.

I hope the show lives up to the trailer. Until I saw the trailer, I could have cared less about the new show. Now? I’m excited to see what the new shows has to offer.
