For those of you who have been longtime visitors of Matt’s Basement Workshop you’re probably already familiar with our old friend Hendrik Varju. If not, then take a moment to use the search button here on the website to find previous episodes I recorded with him.
I was recently contacted by Hendrik and he told me all about his latest venture “Passion for Food”. You didn’t read that wrong. Hendrik has now crossed over and combined two of my favorite things in the whole world, food and woodworking.
I should quickly explain here, he’s not making food out of wood scraps but instead taking his other great passion and sharing it with those interested in learning how to create amazing food in their own kitchens. According to the webpage at www.passionforwood.com/cooking:
“When not doing school work or working with his father, Hendrik spent countless hours cooking and baking with his mother. Hendrik’s mother was a stay-at-home mom and she was an excellent cook. She made all kinds of food, including Italian, Greek, Ukrainian and Polish. Of course, many of her special dishes involved either Hungarian food or her native Mexican food.”
Just like with the woodworking side of his business, Hendrik is now offering private fully hands-on cooking instruction as well as a group seminar format. You should check out the page on his website for yourself to learn more about Hendrik’s background in the kitchen, what he has to offer and ways you can sign-up to take a class or two.
Click here to visit Hendrik’s “FAQ” page for more information. Just don’t drool on your computer or tablet when you look at the pictures of the food!
