Are you subscribed to Popular Woodworking Magazine’s Newsletter? The latest one just arrived in my inbox and as I gave it the cursory once over I saw a short snippet from Megan Fitzpatrick talking about the soon to be released (as of writing this post) book from Jeff Miller – “The Foundations of Better Woodworking: How to use your body, tools and materials to do your best work”.
‘Jeff Miller’s new and important book, “The Foundations of Better Woodworking: How to use your body, tools and materials to do your best work,” is now available for pre-order at ShopWoodworking.com … you’ll find a free PDF for download of Section One: Understanding the Basics, Chapter One: The Wood.’
If you’re not familiar with Jeff, he’s an amazing craftsman, educator and all around nice guy out of Chicago. I’ve had the privilage of taking some day long woodworking classes at his shop and try to make it the Lie-Nielsen Toolworks event that happens there every year.
Jeff is probably best know for his chairs. They’re absolutely amazing! If you’d like to learn more about him, checkout his website at www.furnituremaking.com and also visit Jeff’s blog Chairs and more, you may recognize a few of them from the Spoken Wood Podcast.
In the meantime, follow this link back to Megan Fitzpatrick’s post at Popular Woodworking Magazine’s Editors’ Blog page to download a free chapter of the new book. Maybe you might even pre-order your own copy!
