Sorry for the delay in getting this posted, but here it is finally. Part 3 in the joinery series, this time we’re discussing the Rabbet joint. Another simple joinery technique but one that is useful in all sorts of projects.
At the heart of the Rabbet joint is a groove which creates a shelf in which a mating component rests. This shoulder helps to support the mating component and also dramatically increases the gluing surface (among other things).
