Nakashima Foundation for Peace

I was listening to the latest episode of Fine Woodworking Magazine’s podcast Shop Talk Live the other day and I heard Senior Web Producer Ed Pirnik discussing two great fundraisers to raise money and awareness for a special project started by the late, legendary woodworker George Nakashima. It’s called the Peace Alters Project.

With 3 Sacred Peace Tables already in place, the Nakashima Foundation for Peace is creating and shipping the 4th Sacred Peace Table for the Peoples of Africa that will eventually be housed at the Desmond Tutu Peace Centre in Cape Town, South Africa. The expenses will be close to $100,000 and they need your help.

For more information, including 2 really great fundraising events any woodworker can appreciate, visit Ed’s blog post at Fine Woodworking’s “The Editor’s Mailbox” – “Help Complete the Vision of George Nakashima”.
