Excellent post, Matt! I’m still pretty new to woodworking, and definitely infatuated by power tools. But thanks to you and others like Tom, Chris Schwarz and others, I’m starting to really enjoy using hand planes. Not enough to drop a few Benjamins on a Lie Nielson, but enough to put down my disc sander and rasps a lot more than I used to. I find myself looking for excuses to use my block plane, and I’ve picked up a couple of bench planes online that I’m looking forward to cleaning and tuning to see what they have to offer. Thanks again!

Take care and have fun with your plane exploration LOL.
