The Daily Matt No. 66

January 21, 2010

Today’s episode is part 2 of the bench plane discussion. Let’s learn more about the planes that fall into the medium and fine groupings.

As always, if you have any questions you know how to find me by visiting the website or dropping me a line via email.

I do have one little request or maybe two, if you don’t mind? Please take my new listener survey. If you enter your email address at the end you’ll be entered in a contest to win a MBW T-shirt and a pair of ZEM hearing protection. I promise all the info will be kept private!

And second, checkout the newest show I’m involved with The Spoken Wood Podcast. You’ll find the first episode already posted in the regular feed here on the show, but eventually it’ll have it’s own feed. So check it out!

Awesome job Matt! I love the fact that you have the planes all lined up and discuss each as compared to the others. I hate when you’re trying to learn about hand tools and it goes from “this is a hand tool” straight to “and now we’re going to talk for the next 100 years on how to sharpen it.” Granted, sharpening is probably the most important part but a sharp plane that you don’t know what it’s supposed to be use for is a pretty plane that sits on the shelf.

    Looking forward Monday’s episode!
