Woodworker’s Journal just announced the release of their first iPad app the “Power Tool Tune-Up – Rockler Press” app. Available in the iTunes store for $4.99.

“This app shows how to properly tune up and maintain the most common power tools in your woodworking shop. You’ll get step-by-step instructions, over 150 photos, and over 60 minutes of video from Woodworker’s Journal magazine’s tool experts Sandor Nagyszalanczy and Chris Marshall, as well as a maintenance calendar to keep your machines at their best all year round.”

According to the press release, the app has an interactive table of contents that allows the users to simply touch the image of the tool they want to tune-up and they’re taken directly to the page to find all the step-by-step instructions needed to get the job done correctly.

With over 150 photos, and 60+ minutes of video provided by award-winning tool experts Sandor Nagyszlanacy (author of The Art of Fine Tools and Setting Up Shop) and Chris Marshall (author of Woodworking Tools & Techniques and The Complete Guide to Home Carpentry), the “Power Tool Tune-up” app could be a great reference resource for woodworkers of all experience levels.

And as the description of the app indicates, it isnt just a reference resource either, it also includes a maintenance calendar to help users keep their power tools on track by scheduling their own power tool care and tune-ups.
